IIDCYA opens children painting exhibition in Tehran

Iran’s IIDCYA has opened an exhibition to display the selected works of the 8th International Biennial of Children’s Art Competition in Tehran.

Iran’s Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA) has opened an exhibition to display the selected works of the 8th International Biennial of Children’s Art Competition in Tehran.

Organized in Tehran during November on the theme of water to highlight the shortage, more than 540 paintings by children of ages between 4 and 16 have been selected for the biennial that will run until January 3, 2017.

“Water is an irreplaceable blessing and a resplendency of beauty and refreshment. Its deficiency will dramatically lead to the silence of roaring rivers and sweet songs of birds and the extinct of playful fish, blossoms on trees, and colorful flowers’ smiles in nature,” IIDCYA’s website wrote.

The displayed paintings are coming from about 40 countries, including Turkey, Poland, Uzbekistan, India, Bulgaria, Argentina, Russia, Greece, Armenia and Iran.

IIDCYA is an Iranian institution with a wide range of cultural and artistic activities in the field of mental and cultural development for children and young adults.

The organization, found in 1965, is the platform through which many of Iran's most regarded artists and filmmakers, such as Abbas Kiarostami, Amir Naderi and Morteza Momayez, launched their professional careers.
